Thursday, May 14, 2009 Making This A Thing: Yet Another (Better) Spring Mix & More Concert Dates
Whoa, a slightly-earlier-than-usual blog post! Rare that I can say that.

But hey, you can't fight the forces of Inspirado. Over the past couple of weeks, I've received a really great response to my original Spring '09 Mix from my friends, some of whom have also inadvertantly exposed me to new/old songs that I've been bumping since. That combo of outcomes resulted in me getting the mixing software back up and threading together a follow-up mix, which you can check out here:

It's pretty much a rule / eternal joke of mine to name the first sequel to anything after one of the greatest movies of all time*, so you're not missing out on any deep meaning in that title. I'm really proud of how this one turned out - it's leaner, tighter, and ass-shakier than its predecessor, and I have a lot of you to thank for some great inspiration on it. If you need me to DJ your parties, I will happily come over and throw both of these mixes on, press play, and then go drink your beer while hitting on your friends.

Oh yeah, tracklist. This should be right, I'm already starting work on the next one. :)

  1. "The Reeling" -- Passion Pit
  2. "Weekend" -- The Sea & Cake
  3. "Paris is Burning" -- Ladyhawke
  4. "Milk Crisis" -- The Go! Team
  5. "The Village Green Preservation Society" -- The Kinks
  6. "Casa Bey" -- Mos Def
  7. "His Girl" -- The Budos Band
  8. "Interesting Drug" -- Morrissey
  9. "Young Adult Friction" -- The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

Since last time I wrote, I've since learned that I'll be going to 8,000 more concerts within the next couple of months than I originally thought. Let's try to list them out here, eh?
